Camo Cake for the Husband

So, today is Paul's birthday. Besides being a chef-extraordinaire, he is also an avid hunter, fisher, outdoorsman. He would probably love to have more time to play with the wildlife. I hope he loves this cake. (Amanda even helped me make it!!)
The cake is butter vanilla white decorated entirely with buttercream. This was my first attempt at camo - I know how to make it even better next time!! The design is borrowed from the Louisiana Sportsman magazine. I love fleur de lis patterns!

Giant Cupcake Cake

This is for a 2 year old named Brock. His mom has got to be one of the best party planners.....I have to admit that I would have loved to be a guest at their party! The theme was Mickey Mouse Playhouse - and, boy, was Mickey everywhere!

Mom decided to do cupcakes in lieu of a cake to make it easier to pass them out and have a giant cupcake as the focal point.

The cake is butter vanilla white cake with buttercream icing. The orange section of the cake is a chocolate shell made from the cake mold. It was a new technique that I recently learned and I LOVE IT!! The name, number 2 and the colored "sprinkles" are all fondant accents.

Thanks to Jennifer (and Brock, of course!) for having me decorate a fun cake!
*** Addendum: Thank you to Jennifer for letting me borrow her picture of the cupcake set-up!***

Wedding Shower - part deux

And, my other favorite cake to make.....again. This one is really fun because of the clean lines. I hope to make it again soon.....

Christening Dress - part 2!

You may recognize this cake. Yes, we are on for a second round! And, was I thrilled. I love this cake. It is fun to make, is pretty and (from what I hear) tasted great!

Featured is a 9"X13"X4" carved vanilla white cake with buttercream icing and fondant accents.

Baseball and a Wedding

These two cakes were for a co-worker. She was celebrating her boyfriend's birthday and threw in a wedding celebration on the same weekend! Congratulations to the happy couple!
The baseball cake is a devil's food cake with buttercream icing and a fondant plaque.
The sheet cake was vanilla white cake with buttercream icing featuring chocolate buttercream accents with chocolate fondant rosettes.
