Peace and Daisies

May 2011

This is a buttercream covered cake for the Daisies' End of the Year Party. Had fun making...very easy to put together.

Agent P

July 2011

I have to admit - I had no idea who Agent P was. I now do. This is for a friend of mine whose son turned 7 this July. Buttercream covered almond white cake.

70s Birthday Cake

June 2011

My co-worker asked me to do a 70s theme birthday cake for his lovely wife. This is a tie dyed shirt inspired cake with buttercream for tie dye pattern and the "peace, love and happiness" is fondant accents.

I think I had a more fun making this cake since my daughter decided to be judge and jury while making the cake...."No, mom, you missed a spot!" "Do you REALLY think that will work??" "I LIKE this cake - it's cool!" HA!

Modern Wedding Cake

June 2011

This is a cake for the celebration of a marriage between my aunt and a friend of my parents. They wanted a small cake to have after lunch. I wanted simple elegance and no frills. The cake is covered in buttercream. The flowers are fondant with white luster dust for accent.

Congrats Ed and Kathleen!

Dump Truck Birthday

June 2011

This was for a cute three year old who wanted a dump truck themed birthday party. Mom decorated to the hilt with hard hats, caution tape, and little orange cones. It was adorable.

Cake is covered in buttercream. Truck is made of rice crispy treats and covered in fondant. The "load" is edible rocks - milk chocolate flavored.

King Cake Class

February 2011

Paul and I took a 3 hour king cake making class through a local university outreach program. It was all older women, middle aged yappy women (who would not get their hands dirty or help pick up) and Paul. HAHAHA!! But we had fun! This is my cake - traditional cinnamon/sugar with no filling and covered with sprikles.

Paul's was an apple filled cake and was covered with cinnamon and looked like a meat pie/chunk o' meat. So, no pictures of his.

Boys, boys, everywhere!!

Fondant cake with gumpaste/fondant booties. Love making these little duckies and the fun accents (see the peace sign??) on the cake.

This little boy has already bee born and is a cutie-patootie!!
