So, my neighbors celebrated three birthdays last weekend. Dad and two of the kids had a party. Fun was had by all. It was a great party!! They had a huge waterslide that the kids enjoyed.
The cake was a three tiered monster. The bottom cake was devil's food with a fishing theme for dad, the professional bass fisherman. It featured a hand painted and molded big mouth bass coming out the side of the cake. It was caught by a hand molded fishing pole with fine gauge wire for the line. There were fondant rocks and bobbers on the cake.

The second cake was for the four year old. She wanted lady bugs....so, lady bugs she got. There were large lady bugs with sunflowers on the base of this layer with smaller lady bugs crawling along the top of the cake. This was a vanilla butter white cake.
The top was for the one year old. Mom asked for butterflies for the little princess. So I topped the cake with a collection of flowers and two hand painted butterflies. Also a vanilla butter white cake.
I was so happy with the outcome. It came together as one cake with three themes instead of three cakes on top of each other. I learned some valuable lessons about putting together a tiered cake.
