Princess Buttercream

This is a vanilla butter white cake with buttercream icing. It is a spin-off of the cake I did for my niece but with accents from the brithday girl's party theme.
This cake is still a fav of mine! It is a fun cake and the little girls love it!

Fondant First Birthday

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I always forget to come over here and add pics. Facebook has taken all of my time lately!

This was a cake from June. White vanilla butter flavored cake with vanilla fondant.
Sarah is a daughter of an old and good friend of mine from high school. She was absolutely adorable at the party!

First Communion Time

So, we are in the middle of a three weekend First Communion festival. These are two cakes I did for last weekend.
The first is an open book themed cake I carved out of a rectangular double layer cake. Buttercream icing with icing filling and a white almond cake. Fondant flowers and tassel with buttercream decoration.
The second is a stained glass window theme. The cake is actually the same as the first. I added a cardstock plaque with the little girl's name, "First Communion" and the date. It was affixed to the front of the cake. She absolutely loved the cake!

What a blessing to be able to make such cute cakes for such sweet children!

This is our Easter cake. It was inspired by Martha Stewart's Citrus Celebration Cake in one of her wedding cake books.

It is a yellow butter cake with lemon simple syrup, lemon curd filling, vanilla bean buttercream icing and topped (and served) with candied orange slices.
It really did taste lovely.

New Baby on Board

So, now it is Maria's turn for a new arrival.
The clinic I work at has to hold the record for the number of babies born per fertile female ratio. There must be something in the water!
